Help us celebrate our first kiddo to turn in 100 books on her journey to read 1,000 books before kindergarten! Did you know that if you read just 1 book a day, you can read 1,000 books in less than 3 years? And for every 100 books you read, our Parents as Teachers program will give you a book to keep for your own library! Let us know if you have any questions about getting started!

Our student spotlight for this month is Sadie Sheer, sophomore at Kingsville High. Sadie recently started raising money for the organization, “Cancer Action.” For Sadie, cancer was a big part of her life growing up. Andy, her dad, had cancer and unfortunately passed away, and that motivated Sadie to make a change. When she was going through that tough time, all she longed for was emotional and educational support, and now she is helping others find their support. For her, helping others is always her goal. Sadie would love other people to be inspired by her work and start something motivational and kind. She believes everyone can do it. Sadie states, “You can always start by donating time and money, and finding an organization that can inspire them in the future that they find inspirational.

Good afternoon Kingsville Tigers, One more reminder about the Boys Basketball District Tournament this week. There are 3 games here this evening; 5:00, 6:30 and 8:00. Our boys play the 8:00 game vs. Chilhowee. If we win we will play again Thursday at 7:30. All district tournaments are $6 admission for everyone ages 6 and above. There are no senior discounts, student/staff discounts, or family passes. It is $6 for each evening of the tournament. Tonight our concession stand will be ready to go, our Booster Club will be selling Pulled Pork, and we have a wonderful charitable fundraiser going on and they are running a Sundae Bar in the multi. The car rider loop on the NW side of the building will be for team bus parking only. And the multi will be open with tables set up for extra seating, and a live stream of the games going on in the gym. Please use the bleachers or the multi so we can keep the front hallway and doorways clear for folks to use. Thank you and we hope to see you tonight. Go Tigers!

Basketball District Tournament Info, 2/19 - 2/24 Our high school girls and boys basketball teams start district play next week. With it being MSHSAA post-season play all locations have a set admission fee of $6. There are no family passes, senior or student discounts, or free admission for staff. Ages 5 and under are free. Our girls play in Appleton City on Monday at 4:30 vs. Chilhowee. If they advance they will play again on Wednesday in Appleton City at 7:30. Girls district championship games are on Friday evening. Our boys are hosting their district tournament here in Sears Gym. They open Tuesday evening at 8:00 vs. Chilhowee. There will be 3 games here on Tuesday starting at 5:00, 6:30, then us. Again, it is $6 admission for everyone over the age of 5. If the boys win they will play again on Thursday at 7:30. The championship game is next Saturday at 2:30. We are fortunate to be the boys host site, but with that brings a big crowd. We are using our car rider loop for opponents buses only. Our multi will be setup with tables, and projecting a live stream of the games going on in the gym so before or after each team plays we are asking that their fans use the multi as an overflow area to help keep the bleachers from being packed too tight. When games are going on lets all use the bleachers or the multi to keep things flowing smoothly. We also have a great menu for Tuesday and Thursday evening so bring your appetite. Tuesday our Booster Club will have Pulled Pork and Chicken. We have a wonderful charitable fundraiser going on that will have a Sundae Bar going in the multi. And our concession stand will be stocked and ready to go. On Thursday our concession stand will also have Cheeseburgers on the menu. We hope to see you next week!
