Parents as Teachers will host a (rescheduled) open playgroup tomorrow morning (1/26/24) from 9 am to 10 am. Our normal playgroup Fridays are on the first and third Friday of the month...but, this month has certainly required rescheduling several events and we didn't want you to miss out. Our Friday playgroup in February will be the 2nd (since there is no school on the 16th) from 9 am to 10 am. We hope to see you then!

The 7th grade STEM class is learning about simple machines. Students constructed a birdhouse together talking about which simple machines were used to make it. The birdhouse kits were donated by Home Depot.

There will be no afternoon bus routes today, January 24th. We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding through these times as a few roads are still difficult for our buses to travel safely. We are planning on bus routes, and school, to be on as usual Thursday, January 25th. Thank you

Good morning, Most road conditions have improved, but a few slick areas remain on our bus routes. We will not be running bus routes this morning. We are hopeful by this afternoon that buses will run as normal. We will make that announcement at noon today. If your student is a bus rider and is not able to be driven to school today you have the option to keep them home to complete AMI work. If you choose to do so please email your child's teachers or call the office to let us know this morning. Thank you, and thank you for your patience.

Kingsville Tiger Family, I hope all can understand how difficult some school cancellation decisions are. With the temperatures rising above freezing yesterday causing much of the precipitation on our roads to melt, the decision was made anxiously to get our kids back in school. This morning our buses struggled a great deal navigating some of our rural roads. Fortunately it was early enough into the routes that not very many students had been picked up yet before the decision was made to stop the routes, and/or bring the buses back to school. Students that had already been picked up at that time were brought to school by different means. I am extremely pleased, and relieved, to announce that students and staff have made it to school safely today without incident. Some families have chosen to keep their child at home due to road conditions. If your student is normally a morning bus rider and was not picked up today, or if you were not able to bring them to school yourself this morning their absence will be excused today, January 23rd 2024. Even though the temperature is forecast to continue to rise this afternoon causing roads to continue to melt, we have decided to not run any of our afternoon bus routes today. Families, we understand that this could cause inconvenience or difficulties in getting your child home today, but for at least the remainder of the day today we cannot risk putting our buses back on some of our roads. All 3 of our bus routes are rural routes. We will also not be sending a bus to the Career Center this afternoon. If your child will be picked up from school today by someone other than their normal pick up person please call us as soon as possible to let us know, and we will communicate that with your child. Hopefully the road conditions in our rural areas will be much improved by tomorrow morning. However, if the bus routes are not improved enough to safely run as normal we will not run our buses tomorrow morning. If this is the case we will announce that before 6:00am. And if this is the case, families will have the option to keep bus riders at home tomorrow, January 24th and complete work from home as an AMI Day. For other students that are able to make it safely to school, it will be a “normal” day of school. We very much appreciate your understanding and patience so far this semester. I do apologize for any inconvenience, and for the worry caused by this morning. Jay Fleeman, Superintendent

Good morning Kingsville Tiger Family, We are fortunate to have been able to reschedule each of the high school basketball games missed from the recent weather closures. We also have some events coming up at home games that we would like to get the word out about. Of course these are still subject to change due to inclement weather. If we have any other changes due to weather we will get those out as soon as possible. Have a great day!
