We are in full swing!
Good afternoon,
On Tuesday, 8/29 the area on Adriatic Street directly in front of the school will be closed for new paint and markings for crosswalks and school zones from approximately 8:30am until 12:00pm. Morning arrival will not be affected, and you will be able to drive on that area after 12:00pm. If you need to come to school during that time you will need to enter the parking lot from the east end.
Thank you
The teachers participated in a Certified De-Escalation Training this afternoon.
Thank you to Central Bank for our teacher survival kits!
Happy First Day of School Kindergarten Tigers!
Good morning Kingsville Tiger Families,
As excited as we all are about returning to school this week we also need to be mindful of the extreme heat the rest of this week. Our teachers are modifying recess schedules for this week and keeping students inside. We will be encouraging all students and staff to stay hydrated throughout the day, and yes...at this time all AC units are keeping up!
To help us during this extreme heat I would like to ask a few favors. First, if you are able to please consider making arrangements for your student to be picked up as a car rider for the afternoons this week to help us reduce bus route times as much as possible. Next, our goal is to have all afternoon bus riders have water on the way home. If your child has their own water bottle please make sure they fill it before afternoon dismissal. If they do not we are going to try and provide them with a bottle of water. If you are able to help contribute to this please consider dropping off a case of bottled water at the front office today, or tomorrow morning. We would also like your help by encouraging your students to drink water, and bring a refillable clear water bottle to school if they would like to help them stay hydrated.
Thank you and stay safe!
Pick up your yearbook from last year in the Multi tonight at Back to School Night!
You can still purchase 2022-2023 yearbooks for $54!
Purchase this year's yearbook early for only $44 until September 16th. Prices increase throughout the year.
We hope that you can all join us this evening for our Back To School Night and Fall Sports Meet The Tigers. The doors will open at 5:00, and at 6:30 we ask that all head to the gym for Meet The Tigers and to allow our teachers some time to put things away in their room before they head home for the evening.
Our first day of school is Wednesday, August 23rd. A few reminders as the school year gets going:
Students may arrive as early as 7:30. Please make sure that students are here early if they want to eat breakfast. Upon arrival all elementary students will report directly to the multi, and all high school students in grades 7-12 will wait in the front hall. Classes begin at 7:50.
As you know, we have changed our student information systems from Tyler SIS to TeacherEase. Many other districts are going through system changes as well. As the remaining data is migrated over one of the areas experiencing delays is the student lunch account balances from last school year. If you had a remaining balance from last year please understand that we are still waiting on that transfer so plan on adding money to your student’s account to start the year.
The safety of our students, staff, and all involved in the process of getting our kids to and from school are a huge priority for all of us. Please do your part by being patient, exercise caution at crosswalks, bus stops, stop signs, and intersections. And understand that any staff member working morning arrival or afternoon dismissal is trying to keep everyone safe…they are not trying to make you wait any longer than they have to.
The morning car rider line, and afternoon dismissal will run slower than normal the first few days. We want to make sure we are being diligent and getting each student home safely, and where they should be. If you have ever been through a car rider line at other districts you can appreciate how quickly ours moves as we get into the routine for a few days.
Bus routes, pick up and drop off times will also be slower than normal these first few days. Thank you for your patience and understanding!
If you have any questions regarding the parent pick up line or bus routes, feel free to give us a call. If you have questions or concerns regarding your child's classroom specifically, be sure to contact the classroom teacher first.
